Makeup Artist in Cape Town

Iza Cloete is a professional hair and makeup artist in Cape Town, specialising in refined, natural makeup for weddings, matric farewells, photoshoots and corporate events. Based in Durbanville and working across the city and the Winelands, she is known for skin that still looks like skin — and for keeping the morning calm while she’s at it.

Natural, refined hair and makeup — for weddings and beyond

Most of Iza’s week is bridal: full wedding-morning hair and makeup, elopements, and trials. But the same approach carries into everything else she does — matric farewells, corporate headshots and events, and editorial or lifestyle shoots. The philosophy doesn’t change: enhance the person in the chair rather than mask them, use products that last from first photo to last dance, and leave you looking like the best version of yourself, not someone else.

What Iza does

What does a makeup artist cost in Cape Town?

Full bridal hair and makeup with Iza is R4 800 — and it includes your trial. Makeup only or hair only is R3 250. Bridal party members, mothers and guests are R600 per person for a single service, or R1 200 for hair and makeup. What moves the price is simple and transparent: the size of the party, travel to your venue, and very early start times. The full, current rate card is on the bridal packages page — no “request a quote” games.

Where Iza works

Iza is based in Durbanville in Cape Town’s northern suburbs and works across the whole Western Cape — Cape Town itself, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl and the Winelands, out to Hermanus and the Overberg. After years of wedding mornings she knows most of the region’s venues and how to plan a getting-ready schedule that actually holds. She also travels for destination weddings and elopements.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a makeup artist cost in Cape Town?

Full bridal hair and makeup with Iza is R4 800, and it includes your trial. Makeup only or hair only is R3 250, and bridal party members are from R600 per person. Non-bridal work (shoots, matric farewells, corporate) is quoted per booking. Full pricing is published on the bridal packages page.

Do you travel to my venue or getting-ready location?

Yes — Iza comes to you, whether that’s a guest house in Franschhoek, a hotel in the city, or home. Travel is included for much of the Cape Town area and quoted transparently for venues further out.

How long does hair and makeup take on a wedding morning?

As a rule of thumb, allow about an hour and a half for the bride and roughly an hour per additional person. Iza builds the morning’s schedule with you in advance so nobody is rushed — least of all you.

Should I book a trial?

Yes — and if you book Iza’s full bridal package, the trial is already included. A trial is the easiest way to settle on the look, test how it photographs and wears, and walk into your wedding morning with zero doubt. It’s especially worth it if you rarely wear makeup or have very specific ideas.

Do you do makeup for matric farewells?

Absolutely — matric farewell hair and makeup is one of Iza’s favourite bookings of the year. See the lifestyle page for examples and how to book.

How far in advance should I book?

For Saturday weddings in season (September to April), popular dates are often booked six to twelve months out. Midweek weddings, elopements and shoots can usually be accommodated on shorter notice — it’s always worth asking.
